Lynk & Co 07 is a brand new plug-in hybrid sedan

Lynk & Co’s European offering is limited to say the least, with only the 01. This year, the plug-in hybrid SUV will be joined in Europe by a fully electric sister model. But there’s more. Lynk & Co is launching a relatively large sedan for the first time in its existence.

Although Lynk & Co only offers one model in Europe, the Geely brand has a much larger range in its home country of China. It sells the 02, the 03, the 05, the 06, the 08 and the 09. The latter is actually a Volvo XC90 on which the Chinese have poured a Lynk & Co sauce. Almost all Lynk & Co models are SUVs or crossovers. Only the 03 is a sedan. On the 06, Lynk & Co introduced its latest design language and now the brand announces the arrival of a new model that is also designed according to the new corporate identity. That will also be a sedan. These are the first images of the Lynk & Co 07.

The Lynk & Co 07 in the photos is still covered in camouflage stickers, but what it has to offer in terms of design is already very visible. Like its sister models, the 07 has a snout with lighting divided over two layers, although the LED daytime running lights have been extended much further back, just like the 06. The 07 gets a strongly rising shoulder line, with an ascending arc in the sheet metal. Its tailgate slopes down, which we also saw in the most recent incarnations of the BMW 5-series and Mercedes-Benz E-class. The 07 also has recessed handles in the doors and appears to have a large wheelbase.

Is there a large battery pack between the front and rear axle? No. At least, probably not. For the time being, the manufacturer only refers to the 07 as 07 EM-P. EM-P is the designation for a plug-in hybrid powertrain at Lynk & Co. We aim for its combustion engine to be a blown 1.5.

For the time being, we do not expect the Lynk & Co 07 to come to Europe. Do you consider that a loss?
