MacOS Ventura focuses on multitasking and collaboration

MacOS Ventura focuses on multitasking and collaboration

Apple announced a new version of macOS called Ventura at the WWDC developer conference Monday. The new operating system focuses on multitasking and collaboration.

With MacOS Ventura, Apple tries to keep order on your screen. If you have a lot of open windows, you quickly lose the overview. Apple wants to address this problem by better sorting open windows by placing them on the left side of the screen. You can see which apps you have open by means of small icons and you can easily switch between various programs.

In the new operating system, Spotlight also gets a major update, making it easy to search not only for apps, but also for images, both on the web and locally on your Mac. Thanks to Live Text, you can even search for texts in photos.

Safari and Mail app renewed

Apple is also tackling the Mail app. An interesting feature is the option to revoke emails a few minutes after you have sent them. You can also schedule emails and receive reminders if you have not yet replied to certain messages. Such functions have been available for some time in competing mail apps like Gmail.

The search function in Apple’s Mail app has also been overhauled, making it easier to search for links or documents in emails.

The update to Safari shows that macOS Ventura is fully focused on collaboration. For example, you can share tabs in the browser with friends, family or colleagues. If you go on holiday with friends, you can immediately share all relevant web pages with each other. You can even see which tabs are currently viewed by your friends in the browser. A new window in Safari makes it easy to communicate with friends.

MacOS Ventura will be available in the fall.
