Mail attachments in iOS 13 and iPadOS

With these buttons you can add all kinds of attachments to your mail from iPadOS and iOS 13.

Mailing attachments in iOS 13 and iPadOS has become a lot easier than before. It makes the mail app a lot more useful!

Adding attachments to an e-mail is of course the daily cost of every e-mailer. With the arrival of iOS 13 and iPadOS, this task has become a little easier, using the built-in file manager. For example, if you want to send a mail with a PDF document (and you don’t want to do that from a PDF app, because you consider this halfway through an already typed mail), it works as follows. First of all, you naturally start the Mail app and tap the button for composing a new message (in the form of a square with a pin).

To add an attachment, tap the attachment button in the mail taskbar. In this example we use an external keyboard, but as you can see, all “action buttons” remain visible on the screen. The button to add files is that directly to the right of the camera button. The file browser will open, tap on it – if necessary – on it On my iPad and then Locations to see all folders on your iPad (or iPhone). You can now add any available file type to your mail from any app folder. It’s a matter of browsing for an app folder and selecting a file. Incidentally, the file is added at the place where your cursor is currently in the mail. So it is handy to put it at the end of your message before inserting it. In the same way you can also insert images from the film roll, only use the image button for that; the leftmost next to the camera to see exactly. You can add live photos with the camera button.

Scanning

Finally, there is also the “scan button”. You can use this to photo scan documents. The nice thing about that trick is that the app that is started up with it recognizes a document (if desired), records it and straightens it out. Ideal for when you need to e-mail a document as quickly as possible, the resolution of the cameras on the various i-devices is more than sufficient for this type of job.
