Apple’s Office alternatives Pages, Numbers, and Keynote get their biggest update in a long time with new ways to create documents faster and smarter.
1. Format text with new gradient colors
Both Pages and Numbers and Keynote are getting some of the same new features with the updates. For example, you can now format text by filling the letters with a gradient color and there are new options to adjust the outer lines of text.
2.Place images in lines in text boxes
It also makes it easier to place images, shapes and tables in a text box. These move with the text itself, so that the entire layout of your document does not jump if you add a number or line of text to something.
3.Face Recognition Makes Photos Easier
The most impressive new feature has everything to do with facial recognition. From now on, if you insert a photo, the apps will use facial recognition to automatically place and crop the photo in a good way. For example, you can be sure that the people in a photo appear properly in a text box if you place the photo here.
4. Smaller Pages Improvements
With the update, Pages now makes it easier to paste entire pages between documents and allows you to create links that point to other pages. Useful for larger reports or documents.
5. Smaller Keynote Improvements
In the presentation app Keynote you can now also edit master slides while several people are active in a presentation. Apple Pencil users can now select with a tap on the side of the pencil whether you are going to draw in a slide or use the Pencil to move objects around the screen. People who frequently use lists in slides will appreciate the improved and new options for formatting them.
6. Smaller Numbers Improvements
The performance of the Numbers app improves, so it’s more responsive and has less trouble running large files. As with Keynote, new options have been added for the Apple Pencil that allow you to switch more quickly between the different possibilities of the pen. In addition, more options are available to add rows to filtered tables.
Apple’s iWork apps are installed as standard and free of charge on every iPhone, iPad and Mac, making them an interesting alternative to Microsoft’s Office apps. The updates are available on both iOS and macOS.
