Make Safari a lot safer using these iPhone settings

While there are countless alternatives, Safari remains the most popular browser on the iPhone. On the one hand because of its pleasant integration with iOS, on the other hand because many consumers do not deviate from the standard. No problem, but make sure you get everything out of it.

In terms of privacy, that’s a lot, by the way. By changing a number of iPhone settings, you can quickly turn Safari into the ideal browser. At least, for anyone who considers keeping their data safe and secure.

5 iPhone Settings for a Better Safari

Safari itself is a nice browser when it comes to privacy. Although you can make sure that it gets even better with a number of iPhone settings. It is not necessary to do your own research (always allowed!), because below I have listed five useful settings for you.

#1 No data collection on your iPhone

Apps and websites love two things: a lot of traffic and a lot more data. Fortunately, with Safari and your iPhone, it’s possible to keep the hungry piranhas (because they are) at bay.

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings
  • Select Safari
  • Scroll down to the heading Privacy and Security
  • Set the function Prevent Tracking at

tracking? Rather not! (Screenshot: OMT)

#2 Switch to DuckDuckGo within Safari

While you’re safe to a certain extent within Safari, your own choices also improve things. For example, choosing a search engine is a very good start. One will run off with your data a bit faster than the other.

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings
  • Select Safari
  • Go to the first block called Search
  • Select Search engine
  • Then choose DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo is one of the best options you can choose when it comes to privacy. Of course you have the choice, but the search engine is highly recommended. Searching for certain things will take some getting used to in the beginning, but you do get a lot of protection in return.

#3 Hidden IP address

While a secure search engine and stopping tracking is a great start, you’re not there yet. Your iPhone also offers the possibility to hide your IP address within Safari.

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings
  • Select Safari
  • Scroll down to the heading Privacy and Security
  • Select the option Hide IP address
  • Then choose Out

#4 Safari without cookies

While you’re at it, immediately put an end to cookies. Within Safari, something is sometimes collected on a daily basis. In any case, it is the best way for parties to keep a close eye on your data, so why not say goodbye to it immediately?

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings
  • Select Safari
  • Scroll down to the heading Privacy and Security
  • Add to the option Block all cookies the slider to the right

#5 iPhone location under lock and key

In addition to hiding your IP address, it is also smart to hide your location. Some websites like to know exactly where you are visiting the website from. Safari gives you the opportunity to quickly get rid of that.

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings
  • Select Safari
  • Go to Settings for websites (at the bottom of)
  • Select Location
  • Then choose the option Refuse
