Just like on Mac, on iPhone and iPad it is possible to activate specific website settings for web pages. This means that you can manage and remember all settings related to a web page.
This way you can always activate the reader view or desktop site for a specific website, but also deny access to your iPhone or iPad’s camera, microphone and location. You can set the website preferences per web page, but it is also possible to do this for all websites at once.
Manage website settings per website
- Open the relevant website in Safari
- In the address bar, tap the aA button
- Go to ‘Website Settings’
- Adjust the options you want

Next, you can specify whether this website should always activate reader view or desktop site and which features the website has access to. Tap done and the preferences will be applied immediately.
Overview of all website preferences
The above steps will only allow you to view the settings for a specific website. Of course, you can also consult an overview of all settings directly via Settings â–¸ Safari â–¸ Website Settings. Select a desired item to view a list of all websites to which the option is applied.

Set up for future websites
Not only can you specify preferences per website, you can also set website settings for all websites. To do this, go to Settings â–¸ Safari â–¸ Website Settings. Open a section, such as ‘Reader’ and scroll down the list. At the bottom you will find the option ‘Other websites’. Enable this option to always use the reader view, or disable it to never automatically activate this view. Repeat this for the other sections such as desktop site and access to the camera, microphone or location.
