After a few quiet years, all eyes are once again on Maserati thanks to the MC20. If you look closely, you will see that Maserati has stuck a renewed emblem on the nose of that sports car.
The trident has been central to the logo of the Italian sports brand since the beginning of Maserati. Mario Maserati was at the cradle of the now iconic logo in 1920. He took the fountain of Neptune in Piazza Maggiore in home port Bologna as an example. For many years, this trident has featured prominently in the grille of every Maserati, but above it the brand parks an even more compact emblem. This is noticeable with the introduction of the MC20, because it has been thoroughly modernized.
Until recently, the logo consisted of a blue area in which Maserati was written with a red trident with horizontal stripes above it. Now the blue surface is a lot darker and the red trident makes way for another blue one. The whole looks a lot tighter and now adorns every nose of a Maserati.
