Model year update
The Mazda 6 has been around for 20 years! Mazda is not only celebrating this with a special 20th Anniversay Edition, but also with other news for the now ten-year-old third generation.
It has been more than 20 years since the first generation of the Mazda 6 could be admired in Dutch showrooms. The 626 successor did Mazda no harm in the first decade of this century in our country, but after that sales fell somewhat. The current Mazda 6 appeared in August 2012 and is therefore quite old. This is also noticeable in the sales, this year 147 have been sold so far. It does not prevent Mazda from tightening up the 6 again, because it still has to go through. It also commemorates the anniversary of the 6.
Mazda sharpens the power steering, provides the 6 with Cruising & Traffic Support (adaptive cruise control) as standard, a steering assistant and the infotainment can now also handle Apple Carplay and Android Auto as standard. There will also be two versions that will only be available in combination with the 194 hp Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter petrol engine: Homura and Takumi. The Humora version is just as well known, but is slightly modified. The normally chromed accents on the 6 make way for black copies and the 6 as Homura is also on special black 19-inch alloy wheels. The new Takumi version does have chrome accents and distinguishes itself especially from the inside of other Mazdas 6. You will find nappa leather upholstery, ‘Japanese Sen wood’, suede and aluminum can be found in the interior finish and there is also LED interior lighting.
But what about that anniversary? Well, Mazda is bringing out the limited 20th Anniversary Edition for that. It has a colored nappa leather interior and is equipped with the special Artisan Red paint color. You can also get it in Rhodium White. So a chic but modest party. The 20th Anniversary Edition is also only available with the 2.5. In addition to the 194 hp power source, you can still go for the 165 hp Skyactiv-G 2.0 in combination with other versions. In all cases, the Mazda 6 has a six-speed automatic transmission. The prices and the entire range of options for the Mazda 6 will be announced later.
