Nice draw
Do you feel that you often see a Mazda CX-5 in front of a caravan? That could be right. Research by ASCI shows that the Mazda CX-5 is still the most popular tow vehicle.
Spring is coming again and chances are that you will regularly find a Mazda CX-5 with a caravan behind it. In any case, you can expect that based on the figures that emerge from research by camping specialist ASCI. Inquiries with nearly 5,000 respondents show that last year no fewer than 8.4 percent of all towing vehicles in the Netherlands were a Mazda CX-5. This made the Japanese the most popular towing vehicle for the fifth year in a row.
Mazda says of course it understands that the CX-5 is so popular. It emphasizes that the CX-5 with 165 hp e-SkyActiv-G can pull 1,800 kilos and with the 194 hp power source even 2 tons. The high entry is undoubtedly a plus for the often somewhat older caravan owner.
There’s more reason for Mazda to set up the marquee. The CX-5 is the most purchased new car among caravan owners with a share of 9.91 percent. Furthermore, the brand is also the leader among tow cars in general, because 13.96 percent of newly purchased tow cars last year was a Mazda. Caravan owners are rather fond of new cars, because 40 percent only buy ‘new’ and 87 percent of caravan owners’ cars are no older than ten years.
