Two popularity extremes

Mazda is making a price increase on two models, one of which is significantly more popular than the other. We are talking about the Mazda CX-5 and the Mazda 6. They are both €1,500 more expensive across the board.
The Mazda 2 that is not based on the Toyota Yaris is not exactly the youngest model within the Mazda family with its introduction year in 2014, but the 6 Sedan and 6 Sportbreak are even longer. After all, Mazda’s D-segmenter of the old stamp already made its debut in 2012. Over the years, Mazda has managed to keep the 6 quite up to date through two facelifts and various model year updates, with the result that the Mazda 6 is still for sale. But from now on for something more. Just like the already facelifted Mazda CX-5, the Mazda 6 will be €1,500 more expensive across the board.
Mazda 6
The price list of the Mazda 6 starts from now on at €45,290. For that money you get the Mazda 6 Sedan with 165 hp and 213 Nm strong Skyactiv-G 2.0 petrol engine. Of course, that starting price applies to the entry-level version Centre-Line. The Mazda 6 Sedan with this petrol engine is also available as an Exclusive Line and costs €49,640. For more power, the 194 hp Skyactiv-G is on the list, a 2.5 that produces 258 Nm and helps the Mazda 6 to 100 km / h in 8.1 seconds. It is available from Homura trim level and costs €55,040 in that form as a sedan. With this engine, the Mazda 6 is also available as a Takumi (€55,790) and as a 20th Anniversary (€57,140). In all cases, the Mazda 6 has a six-speed automatic transmission. The surcharge for the Mazda 6 Sportbreak – which with 522 liters swallows more than the sedan (480 liters) is €1,500.

Mazda CX-5
The Mazda CX-5 will also be €1,500 more expensive, regardless of the chosen engine version or version. Just like the Mazda 6, the Mazda CX-5 has the 165 hp and 194 hp powerful petrol engines, although in the case of this SUV they are called mild-hybrid e-Skyactiv-G. The Mazda CX-5 M Hybrid – as Mazda now calls it – is available with 165 hp e-Skyactiv G 165 with a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission. The e-Skyactiv-G 194 always has the six-speed automatic transmission, but is the only one available with four-wheel drive in addition to front-wheel drive. The starting price of the Mazda CX-5 is €39,690.
