The McLaren 720S is followed by this 750S and it is immediately available as a coupé and as an open Spider. But it is not a completely new model. In fact, we are dealing with a modernized version of the McLaren 720S that made its debut six years ago. However, roughly 30 percent of the parts are completely new.

Like the 720S, the McLaren 750S has a carbon fiber base around which it is built. At the bottom of the line, it weighs 30 kilos less than the 720S. Behind the front seats is a 4.0 V8, just like in the 720S, but that machine is a bit more powerful in the 750S. His model name betrays the size of his muscles: 750S and 800 Nm. Those powers find their way to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission with new gear ratios. How fast is the 750S? Fast. The model sprints to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and hits 200 km/h in just 7.2 seconds. The open McLaren 750S Spider is 49 kilos heavier than the closed version and only needs 0.1 seconds longer for a 0-200 sprint.

McLaren has improved the aerodynamics, which, according to the English, should give the 750S more downforce and better balance than the 720S. More technical news? Certainly. The front track has been increased by 0.6 centimeters and McLaren gives the 750S new dampers and ProActive Chassis Control III. The system that raises the nose of the 750S – useful at speed bumps – works faster than ever. In 4 counts the nose goes from its lowest to highest position. With the 720S, that scene lasted 10 seconds. The 750S features carbon fiber bucket seats as standard and the lightest wheels McLaren has ever fitted to a production model.

Are there any external changes? Certainly. The McLaren 750S has a new front bumper and the openings around the headlights are slightly different in shape and slightly smaller. The 750S can also be distinguished from the 720S at the rear. The two nozzles that are spaced apart are replaced by ones placed centrally in the buttocks. The aft deck is also slightly modified.

In the interior, McLaren is adjusting the roof of the digital instruments, new materials are becoming available and the screen behind the steering wheel and the one in the center console have been sharpened. In time, the 750S will probably be a more powerful LT version.
