We already know the new C-class in various types and flavors, but Mercedes-Benz has not yet unveiled the AMG versions. AutoWeek can already show you the entry-level AMG: the C 43.
Although Mercedes-Benz is walking a familiar path with the new C-Class in terms of design, it is taking a different path with the technology of the AMG versions of the model. For example, each AMG version will receive an electrified four-cylinder petrol engine, which means that the six and eight cylinders of successively the 43 and 63 models are finished. This set of spy photos shows the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic from all angles.
The C-class in these photos has two exhaust pipes on either side of the rear, wears the well-known Panamericana grille on its snout and has perforated brake discs at the front. Each and every one of the characteristics of an AMG model. The C 43 AMG of the previous generation C-class had in its last form a 390 hp strong 3.0 six-cylinder petrol engine, a machine that makes way for a horny four-cylinder. We aim for the new C 43 to have the same 2.0 four-cylinder engine as the power source that Mercedes-AMG also has in the 45 models of the A-class and CLA. So count on at least 421 hp strong heart.
The entry-level AMG range of the new C-class will probably make its public debut in the first half of next year. You will undoubtedly have to wait longer for the more powerful C 63 AMG, which will undoubtedly receive some form of electrical support.
