Awesome plugin

The C43 4Matic, which now functions as a top version of the Mercedes-Benz C-class, will soon be downgraded to a sub-topper. Very soon we will be introduced to the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E-Performance, an executioner of a plug-in hybrid!
The Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic is currently the most powerful and also the only AMG version of the C-Class. Unlike the previous C43, the current model no longer has a 3.0 V6, but a horny 2.0 four-cylinder. That machine produces 408 hp and 500 Nm and that is a lot. The C43 stamps to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, but there is again an AMG 63 variant. Like the C43, it has to make do with fewer cylinders than its predecessor. Mercedes-AMG does put a dose of electrical power in return.
Mercedes-Benz previously reported that every C-class will get a four-cylinder, which means that the new AMG 63 loses no less than four cylinders compared to the previous model. No 4.0 V8 up to 510 hp for the new Mercedes-AMG C63, but ‘just’ a 2.0 four-cylinder. That four-cylinder expressly benefits from what the addition E Performance means. You may already know that designation from the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door, where it stands for a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The youngest Mercedes-AMG C63 also gets the E-Performance addition and thus becomes a plug-in hybrid. Reportedly, the combination of the four-cylinder and the electric motor sends up to 680 hp and 750 Nm to all four wheels.
This makes the new C63 much more powerful than its predecessor, although the car weight is undoubtedly significantly higher due to the presence of plug-in hybrid hardware. In any case, count on a car on which the BMW M3 – soon also as a Touring – and the Audi RS4 will have a considerable bone. The C63 S E-Performance will make its debut on Wednesday 21 September, be sure to come back to AutoWeek.nl for all the details!
