53

The new Mercedes-AMG GT came into the world with the necessary horsepower. After all, the party started immediately with the 585 hp AMG GT 63 4Matic and 476 hp 55 4Matic+. Now the milder 43 is giving its first signs of life.
We currently have two variants of the Mercedes-AMG GT; the 55 and the 63. The second one can already be ordered in the Netherlands for €286,258 and anyone who finds it too expensive or too strong can sooner or later sign for the 55. If that is also a bridge too far for you, then it is good to wait a little longer. After all, there is still a Mercedes-AMG GT 43 in the pipeline and we have it here in front of us.
At first glance, the 53 may look exactly like its stronger brothers, but there are quite clear differences. For example, it has a grille that extends less deeply downwards. This is also flanked by somewhat lower but wider air intakes consisting of two parts. At the rear, it is particularly noticeable that the AMG GT 43 has four round exhaust tips, while the 55 and 63 have trapezoidal exhaust tips. Furthermore, just like the 55, the 43 has a rear spoiler that is normally recessed into the rear. The 63 has a fixed spoiler.
The biggest difference is not immediately visible, but you can hear it. The Mercedes-AMG GT 43 will not have an eight-cylinder but a four-cylinder. In this it follows the example of its open half-brother, the SL 43. The 2.0 four-cylinder engine generates 381 hp and 480 Nm with the help of an electronically controlled turbo. In the SL this is good for a still impressive sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a limited top speed of 275 km/h. The sprint will probably go a bit faster in the probably lighter AMG GT. No doubt it will cost you some experience that there are four fewer cylinders, but you can bet that your wallet will be happy. If the AMG GT 43 follows the SL 43 in pricing, it will easily be around €100,000 cheaper than the AMG GT 63.
