Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet: removing the roof has an additional cost

Just as the CLE Coupé replaces the Coupé versions of the previous generations of C and E-class, the CLE Cabriolet acts as a successor to the Cabriolet flavors of the previous C and E. Mercedes-Benz asks €80,555 for the CLE Cabriolet. For that amount you get the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet as a CLE 200 with rear-wheel drive. Under the hood is a mild-hybrid 2.0 four-cylinder that produces 204 hp. The mild-hybrid part is capable of adding up to 23 hp to that total. The starting price applies directly to the AMG Line trim. There is currently no other version available for the CLE Cabriolet. A similarly configured CLE Coupé costs €71,277, so the additional price for the Cabriolet is almost €9,300.

The CLE Cabriolet is also available as CLE 200 4Matic, so with four-wheel drive. For more power you can go to the CLE 300 and CLE 450. They always have 4Matic all-wheel drive and, like all other CLEs, are directly equipped as AMG Line. The CLE 300 4Matic has a 258 hp (+23 hp EQ Boost) powerful 2.0 four-cylinder. The CLE 450 4Matic is the only variant with a 3.0 six-cylinder. That machine produces 381 hp (+23 hp EQ Boost). Regardless of the chosen drivetrain, there is a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission between the engine and the wheels.

The luggage compartment of the CLE Cabriolet – with the roof closed – has a capacity of 385 liters. With the hood open you have to settle for 295 liters. That is slightly less than what fits in the back of an Opel Corsa (309 liters).
