First as a coupe

The Mercedes-Benz CLE will make its appearance later this week. A brand new model, which makes its debut as a coupé and later also comes on the market as a convertible. But what is the CLE again?
Three more days and then the time has come when Mercedes-Benz pulls the curtain off the CLE. On July 5, the whole world will see the brand new CLE. A car that, despite its somewhat confusing name, is actually quite easy to install. It’s not, as you might expect, a big CLA. The CLE is a two-door coupĂ© that succeeds two models in one fell swoop, namely the C-class CoupĂ© and E-class CoupĂ©. As a CLE Cabriolet, it succeeds the open versions, but we will almost certainly not see the CLE Cabriolet on Wednesday.
There will also be a fierce Mercedes-AMG CLE 63.
More than half a year ago, we already had the Mercedes-Benz CLE sketched by our illustrator and the spy photos and this latest teaser confirm that the CLE will be a fairly traditional model. Really a combination of what evolutions of the C-class Coupé and E-class Coupé would look like.
What is even more exciting is whether the CLE with its technology is closer to the C or the brand new E-class. The name suggests that it is closer to the E-class and in that case you can also count on six-cylinders in addition to four-cylinders. The Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 would then be the prime candidate for six-cylinder power, in combination with an electric motor. The plug-in hybrid powertrain of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 SE Performance with four-cylinder would certainly not be a shame.
