Mercedes-Benz has already put quite a few EQ models in the showroom, but there is of course more to come. For example, the EQE unveiled in September is joined by an SUV brother, which is not surprisingly called EQE SUV.
For the second time this fall, the EQE SUV slides camouflaged in front of our spy photographer’s lens. Although the camouflage material has not been lost, we do get a better view of the first details of the EQE SUV. The lighting in particular is a bit clearer to distinguish. The overall picture still shows that the EQE SUV will closely resemble the regular EQE, but in SUV form. Exactly as its name implies, so.
If you are curious about what this will look like, you can take a look at the Mercedes-Maybach EQS Concept that – just like the EQE – was unveiled during the IAA in September. Although this is mainly a preview of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, we now know that the high-ranking EQ models are almost like two drops of water. Picture it in a size smaller and with a little less Maybach frosting and you have about the EQE SUV in front of you.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and EQE do not only share many external features, they are of course also on the same platform. The EVA platform, which Mercedes-Benz uses for its larger EVs. You can therefore expect roughly the same performance as the EQE, although the larger body will undoubtedly cost some efficiency in terms of weight and aerodynamics. However, a maximum WLTP range of well into the 600 kilometers is logically to be expected. Perhaps there will also be a direction for the 700 hp AMG version, although milder versions with around 300 hp will undoubtedly find more sales. The EQE SUV will be unveiled next year.
