Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV 680

The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is naturally the largest and most expensive electric SUV that Mercedes-Benz offers and a Dutch price has now been announced. We are talking about the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV 680, a luxurious colossus for which you pay more than €215,000.

Just under a year ago, Mercedes-Benz introduced the absolute top version of its largest electric SUV: the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV 680. AutoWeek can report what that fully loaded EQS SUV should cost before Mercedes-Benz itself makes it public. Brace yourself: €216,780. Like emptying a bucket.

For almost €217,000 you immediately get a powertrain that is not available in any other EQS SUV. The regular EQS SUV is available as a 360 hp rear-wheel drive (450+) and as a four-wheel drive with a choice of 360 hp (450 4Matic), 449 hp (500 4Matic) or 544 hp (580 4Matic). The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV 680 also has 4Matic all-wheel drive, provided by two electric motors, which together produce no less than 658 hp and 950 Nm. This means that the top version, weighing 3,075 kilos, can reach a speed of 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. There is a 109-kWh battery pack in the bottom, good for a range of up to 607 kilometers.

The Mercedes-Maybach version of the EQS SUV always has five seats and, as befits a Maybach, is packed to the rafters with opulent pampering. The top model literally has a star on its nose, has its own grille, special alloys and a bumper containing a colorful collection of Maybach logos. More pampering comes in the form of an extensive ‘4D’ audio system from Burmeister, special captain seats in the back with a multifunction console in between, the Maybach Business Class package and almost everything else available in the EQS SUV. Of course, everything is finished with beautifully stitched leather, down to the smallest recesses.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV 680 is a good 43 grand more expensive than the next most expensive EQS SUV: the 580 4Matic AMG Line. The ‘cheapest’ EQS SUV costs €125,425 (EQS 450+)
