Compared to its predecessor ROADTEC 01, according to Metzeler, ROADTEC 02 should have significantly improved dynamic performance, especially driving and wet behavior, and does this by using a high percentage of materials of natural origin (materials that are wholly or partly of biomass: plants and vegetables) or recycled.
Metzeler attributes the ROADTEC 02 to the SportTour segment, that of tires for mixed sports and touring use, but says that it has raised the bar even higher in terms of sportiness and therefore calls it a “Super Sport Touring”. band. A tire that boasts the typical characteristics of a touring tire, such as high mileage and excellent wet grip, combined with many of the more typical characteristics of super sports tires, such as handling that offers a new level of sportiness.
ROADTEC 02 is the new tire intended for heavy street bikes with a large displacement, such as Naked, Crossover, SportTour and Touring bikes, used for trips, whether a simple ride outside the city or a long trip to Saint Tropez. In all these cases, Metzeler ROADTEC 02 will be a perfect travel companion.
Metzeler says he has shortened the warm-up time with the new ROADTEC 02 compound, which must have improved safety from the first meters. Finally, Metzeler claims to have improved performance under difficult conditions, such as cold, wet and slippery asphalt. The ROADTEC 02 tire will also represent the first Metzeler product line characterized by a high percentage of materials of natural origin and recycled, allowing a significant reduction in the amount of ingredients of fossil and mineral origin.
