The most important news with the facelift of the electric MG ZS EV is undoubtedly the arrival of a Long Range version with corresponding range. However, much has also changed in terms of appearance.
The Chinese MG is still a fairly young brand and that is also apparent from a somewhat searching policy when it comes to design. The ZS EV in its original form looks somewhat like a collection of all kinds of design elements from other brands. The larger EHS is optically irreverently said an enlarged version of this ‘primal model’, but the new top model Marvel R has very little to do with the other two in terms of design.
We can safely say that the new version of the ZS is a bit more self-assured than before. The Mazda features of the original front have been replaced by a more ‘own’ face, although there is no clear family connection with the Marvel R yet. MG does not stick to a different grille and a new headlight layout, but puts a completely new nose on the ZS.
As a result, the electric version of the ZS, which elsewhere in the world also comes with combustion engines, is now more clearly recognizable as an EV. This is mainly because the grille has been replaced by a panel with a clear structure, but without openings. The only remaining cooling vents are lower in the bumper and are also different in shape. This also applies to the headlamps, which, due to the lack of a real grille, no longer fit in with its frame.
At the rear, the news is smaller, but we do see a revised bumper and new LED taillights. The interior of the latest edition of the MG ZS can be recognized by the larger infotainment screen and digital instrumentation.
