Microsoft has proposed Phone Link as the new name for its Your Phone app. The app on Windows should bridge your smartphone and it will be given a new design that is more in line with Windows 11.

Microsoft finally put an end to Windows Phone in January of 2019 and later that year the company rolled out an app that makes your Android phone and Windows PC work better together. Your Phone has already received some updates, but now a major design innovation is coming, Microsoft has announced on its Windows Experience Blog†
Your Phone will henceforth be called ‘Phone Link’, according to Microsoft because the app runs more than a phone experience on your PC and that it effectively bridges the two devices. The app also gets a design and new colors that better fit in with the Windows 11 line.
New interface
In the new interface, notifications from your phone have been moved to the left in a sidebar and the improved preview also makes the notifications more organized. In addition, there is a navigation bar in the app at the top with which you can open photos, apps, messages and phone calls. Microsoft says it has become easier to set up Phone Link the first time, because you now only need to scan a QR code with your smartphone.
In its announcement, the developers also unveiled a new partnership between Microsoft and smartphone manufacturer Honor. Similar to Samsung, there will be deeper integration of Phone Link with Honor smartphones. Honor smartphones are not yet officially for sale in the Netherlands and Belgium since the relaunch of the brand.
