Mini is about to present a very quirky study model. Via social media, Mini is announcing the arrival of what it calls the Vision Urbanaut, a Mini that is not that Mini at all!
Mini’s latest study is called Vision Urbanaut, but it’s not as Mini as you might think. Or so it seems. The car that Mini already shares an image of on Twitter appears to be a modern incarnation of a Volkswagen T1 or Fiat 600 Multipla. Remarkable!
The shared image goes hand in hand with a hip piece of prose from Mini. “Creative spaces: redefined. Get ready for an urban oasis “, writes Mini. It is not entirely clear what exactly Mini is planning with the Vision Urbanaut. The apparently MPV-like car could well have to do with the recently announced newcomers to the brand. At the end of October, Mini revealed that it would come up with two new electric models, although they would both be crossovers.
Incidentally, it is not the first time that Mini casts a study model in an MPV-like shape. In 1997 Mini showed at the Geneva Motor Show namely the Spiritual Too Concept, a small spacious city car with a Smart hint around it, although the first Smart was only presented in 1998 in Paris.
