Mini Remastered winks at Lotus Esprit Turbo

David Brown Automotive has presented a very strikingly decorated version of the Mini Remastered. The orange-colored hatchback winks at a Lotus that is known for its white screen.

David Brown Automotive drew the canvas in 2017 for the Mini Remastered, a version of the Mini that was modernized in various areas until 2000. Such a ‘restomod’ naturally cries out for the arrival of special versions. Last year the company presented the Oselli Edition with a sportier version of its Mini Remastered and now there is a specially dressed regular model that David Brown Automotive wants to show what is possible when you personalize this modern classic.

The trolley is made of Copper Glow, the carriage is decorated with black wheel arches, a black roof and hand-painted Sahara Gold-colored stripes that are accompanied by the word ‘Turbo’. The Mini stands on 13-inch-spoke wheels, executed in the same Sahara Gold color. With this special Mini Remastered, David Brown Automotive says it wants to pay tribute to the color-technically comparable Lotus Esprit Turbo that played a leading role in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only (1981).

In the interior we find dark wood veneer that contrasts beautifully with the white leather and Alcantara. This copy also has an infotainment system that is linked to a 7-inch display and that can handle Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The special Mini Remastered gets the same 1,330 cc four-cylinder as the regular versions, a machine that sends 72 hp to the front wheels.
