KTM has given the 1290 Super Adventure R a minor update for 2023. The thick Allroad, which according to the Austrians does not need a road to reach its destination, has been given improved navigation for the coming year.
According to KTM, the 1290 Super Adventure R, which will be completely renewed in 2021, has redefined the premium sector of the Travel/Adventure segment. Thanks to the “winning combination of power, light weight, off-road agility and handling from years of DAKAR, Rally and Enduro excellence, state-of-the-art electronics and WP suspension.”
Another strong statement: “With the 1290 Super Adventure R, a trial mountain trail is just as easy to conquer as a mountain pass.” KTM said it achieved this by making the block 1.6 kilograms lighter and improving the heat management, so that the block had remained good for 160 hp and 138 Nm of torque despite stricter emission requirements.
For 2023, KTM has boosted the navigational potential of the 1290 super Adventure R. Improved Turn-by-Turn+ guidance and the ability to set waypoints and detours are now all possible via the handlebar switch and via the TFT. Everything – including answering phone calls and logging the top ten ‘favorites’ – can be done with the flick of a finger.
