Coming in 2025
Mitsubishi’s current European offering is not very impressive, but that will change in the foreseeable future. A fully electric SUV will be released in 2025, of which we can already see some outlines.
With the aging Space Star and Eclipse Cross and two rebadged Renaults (Colt and ASX), Mitsubishi’s current model range does not look very progressive. However, it was recently announced that a fully electric Mitsubishi based on Renault is in the pipeline. Mitsubishi is now showing this for the first time.
We don’t get to see more than a dark photo of the newcomer’s silhouette yet. However, as we expected, it appears that the Mitsubishi Xforce has been carefully considered for the design direction. The lighting of the yet unnamed EV is somewhat similar to that of the Xforce intended for Asia. However, this is really a fundamentally different model, because it shares its basis with electric Renaults and will soon also be built here in Europe for Europe.
Mitsubishi is talking about a ‘mid-segment SUV’. Logically, we can count on a cousin of the completely new Renault Scenic. The new Mitsubishi also looks a bit like that, although in this case we should not expect such a Renault copy as is the case with the Colt and the ASX. Carefully count on 160 hp or 220 hp front-wheel drives, with a driving range of 420 to 620 km, if we take a look at what the Scenic has to offer. Mitsubishi’s new EV will be launched on the market in 2025.
