Motorola is preparing to release its most powerful premium phone: the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. The phone is powered by the high-end Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a 200MP main camera and a 125W fast charger. The phone should hit the market next month.
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra
Motorola already announced in May that a new top phone is coming in July that will be the first to use a 200 MP camera. From the beginning of this year, there were already rumors of such a phone with the name ‘Motorola Frontier’. That is the code name for the upcoming Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, or the bigger brother of the Edge 30 and the Edge 30 Pro.
The Chinese ITHome has discovered that Motorola’s flagship has visited Chinese regulators, and it appears that the phone will be getting a powerful charger: a 125W fast charger. According to previous rumors, the Edge 30 Ultra will come with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a 6.67-inch screen. It is an AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and curved edges.
There is still some uncertainty about the camera. Samsung recently launched a new generation of its 200 MP ISOCELL camera released, but it is not known whether it will also be used in the Edge 30 Ultra right away. In addition, a 50 MP camera will come with the phone, presumably a wide-angle camera, and a 12 MP sensor. The latter is a possible telephoto camera. Other Edge 30 series phones came without a separate telephoto camera.
Availability
The Edge 30 Ultra should become the showpiece of the Edge 30 series, but nothing is known about the price of these premium phones yet. The Pro version came on the market in March with its regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset for 799.99 euros. The Edge 30 Ultra, on the other hand, could flirt with the €1,000 mark, or it could exceed that price. We do not know on which day he appears in the month of July.
