Netatmo is a French company that develops simple and smart products for a safer and more comfortable home. For example, it offers the Smart Door Lock with keys, as well as the Netamo weather station and the Smart Modulating Thermostat. Netatmo is now announcing that its Home + Security app is about to be updated. The new version will offer a completely redesigned interface that provides even more intuitive and direct access to the most important functions. The update will be rolled out to all users over the course of several weeks from February 6, 2024.
Netatmo Home + Security app
The Home + Security app was initially designed to control various Netatmo camera models. Over time, smart door openers, the Smart Siren, the Smart Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors, as well as the smart door systems from Legrand and Bticino were also included in the app. The number of different products that the app must support is expected to continue to grow in the coming years. So it was time to overhaul the app’s usability with more intuitive navigation and a quick overview of the user’s entire security system.
Three important functions
In addition to the new look, the updated Home + Security app offers user-friendly navigation with quick access to three key features:
• Dashboard: A general overview of what is happening at home, with the possibility of immediate actions.
• News Feed: Provides an overview of previous events and the ability to replay content.
• Institutions: Here you can manage the home, add products or change notification preferences.

In the Home + Security app it is possible to fine-tune the settings of each product or have products work together. See below some examples of what this looks like in practice:
• Set the Smart Outdoor Camera so that the spotlight turns on when a person or car appears in the picture, but not a dog or cat.
• Recognized by your Smart Indoor Camera so that, thanks to geolocation, surveillance is automatically interrupted when you get home.
• Ensure that if a Smart Indoor or Outdoor Camera detects irregularities, the Smart Indoor Siren automatically sounds, or the spotlight of the Smart Outdoor Camera turns on.
Availability
The new version of the Home + Security app will be available from February 6, 2024 and will be rolled out to all users worldwide over the course of several weeks.
