Netatmo Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm will be available from November 16

Netatmo launches the Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm today. This device measures the carbon monoxide content in the room where it is installed. The Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm will be available from November 16 for a suggested retail price of 99.99 euros.

Netatmo Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm

The Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector detects carbon monoxide at a concentration of 50 PPM (parts per million). When this concentration is detected, the user will receive a “carbon monoxide abnormal” notification. If the Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm still detects a concentration of 50 PPM 30 minutes later, the alarm will sound and the user will receive a “carbon monoxide detected” notification. To give a clear picture of the different concentrations of carbon monoxide: 800 PPM is considered extreme exposure and 100 PPM is considered mild exposure.

Netatmo’s Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm, like other carbon monoxide alarms, has an Auto-Test function. This function checks the status of the carbon monoxide sensor, battery and Wi-Fi connection. If a problem is detected, the owner will receive an alert. The detector also has an Alarm Test function, which makes it possible to check the correct operation of the 85 dB alarm.

Works with smart lighting

The Smart Carbon Monoxide detector can communicate with smart lighting, such as Philips Hue, but also other brands via the Apple HomeKit. As soon as carbon monoxide is detected, all the lights in the house turn red or another preset color. If the user also has one of Netatmo’s Thermostats, the Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm can switch off the boiler via the Smart Modulating Thermostat or Smart Thermostat.

Long lifespan

The Netatmo Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm is installed in minutes by simply screwing it to the wall. You place the detector in all rooms where a boiler, fireplace, stove or gas stove can be found. Then you download the Home + Security app to set up the carbon monoxide alarm.

The built-in battery of the Smart Carbon Monoxide Alarm lasts 10 years. When the time comes, the carbon monoxide detector sends a notification to the user to purchase a new carbon monoxide detector. According to Netatmo, it is in any case advisable to replace the Smart Carbon Monoxide detector after 10 years due to wear of the detection sensor.
