Aprilia has come up with three new color schemes for the Tuareg 660 for model year 224, which, according to the Italians, should emphasize the adventurous attitude and great off-road capabilities of the Tuareg.
The common denominator among the new color combinations is the new red frame, which, according to parent company Piaggio, should emphasize the sportiness of the Tuareg, which has already provided quite a few surprises on its debut in Rally motorsport.
In addition to the colors “Atreides Black” and “Caanyon Sand”, there is the evocative Dakar podium color scheme, a tribute to the Aprilia that reached the podium in the famous Dakar rally in 2010, the last Italian motorcycle to successfully complete this rally. That was at the time Francisco “Chaleco” Lopez on the Aprilia RXV 4.5 V-twin.
This year, the Tuareg is the protagonist of an astonishing debut in off-road competitions within the framework of the “Back to Africa” project. In the version developed by Aprilia Racing in collaboration with GCorse of the Guareschi brothers, the Aprilia Tuareg is in the race for the Italian Motorsport Championship.
In addition, he has just achieved a brilliant third place in the Transanatolia Rally on his debut in a major international competition. The next step in the project is the African desert – a destination already described in the name Tuareg.
