New colors for 2025 ZX-10R and ZX-10RR

Kawasaki has given its Ninja Supersport flagship, the ZX-10R, as well as the limited ZX-10RR, a fresh new coat of paint for the 2025 model year. The color scheme of the double-R in particular is remarkable, to say the least.

No thorough innovations, but given the sales figures of what was once the best-selling segment, we are honestly not surprised at all. Comparing costs and benefits and then quickly coming to the conclusion that investing is actually no longer profitable at all. And if, then only sparingly.

The last major update dates back to a few years ago, when the engine was thoroughly modified internally – but according to Dorna Sports, not thoroughly enough to homologate the new engine for WorldSBK, which meant that the Kawasaki Racing Team could not fully utilize the new engine.

Including Ram-Air horsepower, the one-litre four-cylinder in-line engine is good for a top power of 213 hp, which is transmitted to the rear wheel with a wide range of driver assistance systems. Then we’re talking traction control, wheelie control, Engine Brake Control, Kawasaki’s unique Cornering Management Function and four selectable and adjustable riding modes. Everything depends on the angle of inclination, of course, thanks to the 6-axis IMU. Oh yes, and of course an up/down quickshifter.

The last generation also saw the introduction of aerodynamics, in the form of scoops incorporated into the fairing that should generate just as much downforce as those ugly winglets used by the other brands. The double-R also has lightweight Pankl parts in the block, cast Marchesini wheels and variable intake pipes.

Kawasaki has come up with two new colors for the ZX-10R for 2025. Or better said, the old colors given a new look. The KRT edition is still the KRT edition, but in accordance with the 2024 KRT colors, which are considerably fresher than the dark black/green of the 2023 model. And the black one is still black, but with different stickers on the fairing.

The 2025 ZX-10RR, on the other hand, does have a completely new color, but we are honestly not sure yet whether this is an improvement. Not Kawa green, but completely gray with some gray accents. And that tends a bit towards a boring gray mouse.

Both models will be available from Kawasaki dealers from mid-November. The 2025 Ninja ZX-10R is available in the new Kawasaki Racing Team colors and Metallic Graphite Gray / Metallic Diablo Black from €23,749. The Ninja ZX-10RR is available in Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray from €33,999.
