AutoWeek can exclusively show you patent plates of a completely new model from the Turkish TOGG. It looks very likely that it is an electric sedan that may already make its public debut during CES in Las Vegas.
TOGG will make an appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in early January. The brand says it will overload the visitor to that tech fair with the best it has in the field of autonomous, electric and connected mobility has to offer. What does that mean in concrete terms? It is very likely that the company will give a more concrete glimpse of the models it will carry in the future. Earlier this year, AutoWeek was able to show you exclusive patent drawings of the production-ready version of TOGG’s electric SUV and now we’ve got our hands on patent drawings of a brand new electric sedan from TOGG.
TOGG
TOGG itself is releasing the first shadowy plates of its new electric SUV (photos 8 to 10), a car that differs in detail from the first pre-production SUV that the Turkish consortium presented at the end of 2019. We aim for TOGG to bring that electric SUV to Las Vegas, but also do not rule out that TOGG will park the electric sedan visible on these patent plates. The officially unnamed electric sedan differs remarkably strongly from the electric sedan that TOGG presented in December 2019, but at the same time it is very similar.
TOGG ‘C-Sedan’ 2019
We see a four-door sedan that has a much more sloping roofline than the prototype shown two years ago. The roofline flows more smoothly into the tailgate. It therefore seems strongly that we do not have a more production-ready version of the prototype shown in 2019 in front of us, but a preview of a completely new model. So a concept car. The LED lighting apparently incorporated in the grille and on the roof, together with the missing door handles, point to this. Although the design of the front and rear shows similarities with that model, every line is really different. The windows of the sedan on the patent plates are also completely different from those of the harbinger shown a few years ago.
TOGG says it will build the electric SUV, which is currently referred to as a ‘C-SUV’, in Gemlil, Turkey in 2022. We expect the electric sedan not long after that. TOGG also has an electric hatchbacj, a compact crossover and an MPV on the wish list.
