Something off

The BMW 2-series Active Tourer gets a new entry-level engine. Until now, the 136 hp strong 218i was the entry-level, but now comes the slightly more modest motorized 216i.
The BMW news is flying around your ears today. The brand unveiled the XM and gave the Z4 a minor facelift, but it also doesn’t forget the much more practical 2-series Active Tourer. The 136 hp and 230 Nm strong 218i is being promoted. It is no longer the entry-level, the new 216i now takes on that task.
Just like the 218i, the BMW 216i Active Tourer has a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, but is slightly less potent with 122 hp and 230 Nm. The 216i Active Tourer is, just like the 218i and basically every other engine version of the MPV, equipped with a seven-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with dual clutch. The 216i Active Tourer reaches 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds. Former slip-on 218i does the same job in exactly 9 seconds. The average consumption of the 122 hp three-cylinder engine is comparable to that of the 218i (6.2-6.8 l/100 km) at 6.2-6.7 l/100 km. Remarkably, the 216i is not identical to the engine version of the same name that you can get in the 1-series. That is namely 109 hp and 190 Nm strong.
