Genesis has started testing on European soil with the new G90. This may indicate that Genesis’ new top sedan will also go on sale in Europe.
Genesis is rocketing. The brand regularly releases a new model and intends to sell its cars in Europe as well. The G80, GV80, G70 and GV70 have already been confirmed for the European market and that means that Genesis will soon have opponents of cars such as the BMW 3-series, X3, 5-series and X5 on the menu. 7-series competitor G90 will soon be joined by a new generation and this brand-new set of spy photos shows that top sedan in test costume on European soil.
Genesis G90 (current model)
The new G90 has had camouflage trim before, but never before have we seen the competitor of cars like the Lexus LS and Mercedes-Benz S-class so close. Although the now about six-year-old G90 was already topped with the now typical Genesis design during its last thorough facelift, the soon to be completely new G90 will fit even better within the Genesis family. The new G90 has a higher window than the strongly liftback-like G80, but looks a lot more dynamic than the current model. The rising shoulder line also contributes to this. The new G90 gets a set of extra side windows behind the rear doors. Although the rear is still fanatically in the patches, you can see something of the rear lights for the first time. It seems that the G90 is getting tail lights that, unlike the rest of the Genesis models, do not consist of two flat horizontally oriented LED stripes.
We are aiming for the G90 to make its debut in its home country of South Korea and to come to the United States at a later stage. So don’t be surprised if Genesis decides to let the G90 sink its teeth into its mainly German competitors in Europe. The G90 will probably be delivered with six cylinders. Whether the 5.0 V8 of the current G90 will also hang in the new model remains to be seen.
