Apple has rolled out the fourth developer beta of iOS 16 for developers. This simply means that there are a lot of new functionalities and improvements to be found in the system that will be released this fall.
To give you a good idea of where Apple currently stands with the update, and what to expect, here’s an overview of all the additions.
iOS 16: new on the lock screen
The lock screen on the iPhone is getting its biggest makeover yet thanks to iOS 16. Not all functionalities are immediately available and developers were not yet able to work with all additions. The fourth developer beta will change that.
The biggest addition is that of the ActiveKit: essential for testing Live activities. This is a widget on the home screen that allows you to track certain activities. Think, for example, of the position during sports competitions, a delivery or the progress of your Uber ride.

iOS 16: new in applications
In the fourth beta version of iOS 16, Apple has also made changes to a few standard applications. This is about the apps Messages, Mail and Home. An addition has also been made in the area of CarPlay.

Who wants to call back an email in Mail, through the Unsendoption, now has more options. Developers can choose from more timeslots thanks to the fourth beta of iOS 16. Previously the limit was ten seconds, but twenty seconds and thirty seconds are added as an extra option.
It is in Messages possible to view all changes of edited messages. Editing itself is also possible up to five times from this beta version. While the timeslot for that operation is still 15 minutes, you can only recall a message for a maximum of two minutes after sending.
Other minor adjustments
