You’ll soon be able to download and install several software updates including iOS 26.3, iPadOS 26.3, macOS 26.3 and watchOS 26.3 for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. You could also test the updates and fix various bugs, but also add new features.
The most important addition is full support for third-party accessories in the EU. In addition, the new software update includes easy data transfer from iPhone to Android, updated Weather wallpapers and more. We list all the new options for you.
Improved support for third-party accessories
Apple’s latest software updates make it easier for European users to use third-party accessories with their iPhone. The EU has required Apple to add full notification support. This means you can forward notifications to third-party accessories, such as smartwatches.

- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Navigate to ‘Notifications’
- Select ‘Forward notifications’
- Select the desired accessory
- Confirm the forwarding
The implementation has one limitation: you can only receive notifications on one accessory at a time. When you activate Notification Forwarding for a third-party smartwatch, your Apple Watch will automatically stop receiving notifications.
Link and connect accessories
In addition to forwarding notifications, connecting these types of accessories will also be improved and can be compared to connecting an AirTag, HomePod or AirPods with your iPhone or iPad.
Improved weather wallpapers
Introduces iOS and iPadOS 26.3 three new weather wallpapers in a new separate ‘Weather’ category. These wallpapers are designed with different fonts for the time display and include widgets that allow you to see weather forecasts in your current location.

Apple has now split the previously combined ‘Weather and Astrology’ section into two separate categories. What makes these wallpapers special is that you can customize the widgets: you can move them and change the display of the time to your preference.
Easier transfer to Android devices
The biggest change in iOS 26.3 is the introduction of streamlined migration to Android phones. For the first time, Apple makes it very easy to switch from iPhone to Android. Users can simply hold their iPhone and Android device next to each other and the devices will automatically connect and transfer data.
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Go to ‘General’
- Tap ‘Transfer or set [apparaat] back in’
- Choose ‘Transfer to Android’

This transfer involves transferring the following items: photos, messages, notes, applications, passwords, contact information, and phone numbers. This wireless transfer happens without having to download separate apps. Google has simultaneously implemented a reverse feature, allowing Android users to easily switch to iPhone as well.
However, it’s important to know that some sensitive data isn’t transferred: health data, paired Bluetooth devices, and secure items like locked notes remain on your iPhone.
