Apple expert Mark Gurman emphasizes that there will be no Apple event in October 2022 for the new iPad Pro. Apple plans to introduce the iPad Pro 2022, the new MacBook and Mac mini in a different way.
No Apple event in October – but new iPad Pro
In his most recent newsletter, trusted Apple expert Mark Gurman reiterates that Apple will not be holding an event in October. He says that the introduction of iPhone 14 in September was probably the last event of this year.
However, that doesn’t mean you can’t expect new Apple products this year. According to the Apple specialist, there will be a new iPad Pro 2022 (11 inches and 12.9 inches) and a new MacBook Pro of 16 inches. He also thinks that there will be another Mac mini and that there may be a new Apple TV.
M2 chip (or not)
Gurman expects that the new iPad Pro 2022, MacBook Pro and the Mac mini will all get a lightning-fast M2 chip in October. This chip is now already included in the MacBook Air 2022. But it would of course also be possible that Apple opts for the M1 Pro or M1 Max, which you already know from the MacBook Pro 2021.
The lack of a new Apple event for the new iPad Pro and Macs in October is of course unfortunate, but according to Gurman, Apple will reveal the products via press releases, briefings and the website. It is not the first time that Apple has done this. The AirPods Max and the AirPods Pro were also introduced via press releases.
iPad Pro 2022: minor updates to Apple’s best tablet
Apple probably won’t hold an event, because this time it’s only about minor updates. For example, not much will change with the iPad Pro 2022 except for the new chip. Perhaps the iPad Pro 2022 will have a glass back to enable wireless charging, but that too is not certain. The battery will probably get a bit better, but otherwise there doesn’t seem to be much new to come. We will probably know more soon.
