Apple is working on new iPads and a new MacBook Air, which we can expect soon, according to rumors. This is when!
Apple will launch iPad 2024
While no new iPads were released this year, we can reportedly expect new tablets from Apple in early 2024. This is what the usually reliable Apple analyst Mark Gurman predicts. He expects a new iPad Pro and iPad Air to appear before the spring. That’s not all, because a new MacBook Air is also coming.

The new iPad Pro is released with an 11- and 13-inch OLED screen and runs on the new M3 chip. We previously saw this processor in the MacBook Pro 2023. The new iPad Air is also being released (for the first time) in two sizes: an 11- and a 12.9-inch version. This means that the iPad Air’s screen will become slightly larger. It is not yet clear which processor the iPad Air will get.
New MacBook Air with M3
Gurman also expects a new MacBook Air. The laptop is released with a 13- and a 15-inch screen and also runs on the M3 chip. Last year, Apple released a MacBook Air with a 15-inch display for the first time. This was also (literally) the biggest change, because the laptop was not equipped with the fast M3 chip. Instead, Apple chose M2 again.
That was striking, especially because the MacBook Air 2022 also ran on the M2 chip. Not much later, Apple introduced the M3 chip, but for the MacBook Pro 2023. Next year, Apple will opt for the fastest processor for the MacBook Air. Furthermore, no major changes are expected with the MacBook Air 2024.
New products will arrive in early 2024
According to Gurman, the new iPads will be released around the same time as the release of iPadOS 17.4. This year, iPadOS 16.4 was released on March 27, so it’s quite possible that we’ll see iPadOS 17.4 around that same date in 2024. That is also the moment when Apple announces the new tablets. The Apple Pencil 3 and a new generation Magic Keyboard are also expected with the iPad Pro and Air 2024.

It is not yet known what exactly will change with these accessories; The Magic Keyboard for the iPad will reportedly have an aluminum frame. These accessories will probably also arrive in March. We won’t have to wait as long for the MacBook Air, which will arrive at the end of January or beginning of February, according to Gurman. Are you planning to buy a new MacBook?
