In the summer of this year, the new Nissan Qashqai will be at the dealers. A Qashqai + 2 like the one from the first generation will not be available now. However, the Qashqai will get a larger SUV next to it. Techzle can now show you the new X-Trail from all angles.
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Transport has published a gigantic list of new type approvals, showing Techzle not only the new extended Mercedes-Benz C-class, but also a fresh SUV from Volkswagen. There is also Chinese Nissan news, but with some relevance to the European market. This extensive series of photos shows the upcoming Nissan X-Trail.
To be fair, the appearance is probably no surprise to the avid visitor of Techzle.nl. The new X-Trail is, just like the model that you still find at Dutch dealers, almost identical to the Nissan Rogue. The Rogue was brought to a new generation in the middle of last year, so it is not surprising that the design of the X-Trail almost matches one to one.
Nissan X-Trail (current model)
Although car manufacturers in China more than regularly introduce longer wheelbase versions of existing models, the wheelbase of this Chinese X-Trail at 2.71 meters is identical to that of the Rogue, which has been around for a while in the United States. With its length of 4.68 meters, this X-Trail is slightly longer than its American equivalent, although that is undoubtedly caused by slightly different bumper work. In contrast to the Rogue, there is a rear fog light in the rear bumper. The interpretation of the rear lights is also slightly different. Nissan only supplies the X-Trail in the United States with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. The Chinese X-Trail has a 204 horsepower blown 1.5 petrol engine.
Nissan Rogue (United States)
It is certain that the youngest X-Trail will also come to Europe and therefore the Netherlands. The European version deviates only in detail from the American Rogue and this Chinese X-Trail. What Nissan has in store for the European X-Trail in terms of engine power remains to be seen. In addition to two compact mild hybrid petrol engines, the Qashqai also has an innovative e-Power powertrain. However, it is not yet certain that the X-Trail will also get those powertrains. The new Nissan X-Trail will be presented later this year.
