Buick shows a revised version of the Enclave. In particular, the nose of the hefty SUV is undergoing a major overhaul.
At Buick news it is now worthwhile to ask about which Buick it is exactly. The brand is not only active in its home country of the US, but is also doing good business in China. The Chinese branch, however, uses different models than the Americans, but often uses the same names.
Well, today is the original. A real, American Buick, but one that follows in the footsteps of its Chinese brother in appearance. The Enclave, presented in 2017, will have a nose made up of two layers, following the example of the smaller Enclave that was presented in China in 2019. In the US, too, the headlights move to a private housing at the bottom of the bumper, while the more prominent position next to the grille is taken by striking daytime running lights.
Further back, the American Enclave remains clearly distinct from its Asian brother. For example, the stubborn, abruptly cut chrome strip after the rear side window remains intact. However, the rear light is being tackled, with which both units optically fuse even more. It is also striking that the gigantic tailpipes of the bumper have disappeared, making the new Enclave butt a little tighter.
It is still unknown what the facelift of the Enclave will bring further. For the time being Buick sticks to two plates of the exterior and refrains from commenting on other parts.
Hard to install
The Enclave is a model that is difficult for Europeans to place. The large seven-seater operates above the technically identical Chevrolet Traverse, but again below Cadillac models. Until recently, the entire segment was actually unknown in Europe, but in the form of the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander, two cars from this category have appeared on the European price lists in recent history. In America this type of car, which combines a lot of interior space and luxury with a very manageable price tag there, is very popular.
