Opel announces the new Mokka. The “X” in the model name will disappear and there will be a fully electrically powered version.

Opel will soon be presenting the new Mokka. The SUV, which is in the range between the Crossland X and Grandland X, comes for the first time in a fully electric version, with the technology from the Corsa-e. The compact SUV will also take over many other technologies from the Corsa, such as the fuel engines with which the Mokka is also available.

The addition “X” disappears from the name of the Mocha again. Opel added that to the update of the current model, so that the model name is more in line with that of the other SUVs of the brand. But Opel considers the extra letter no longer necessary, because the name Mokka is now known by itself to a large audience.

What the new Mokka looks like remains a secret, the image that Opel releases of a camouflaged model reveals at most something about the silhouette of the car. Production will start in the fourth quarter of this year, with first deliveries expected in early 2021.
