Jeep brings new petrol engines to the Compass. The old MultiAir petrol engines are exchanged for modern machines of the Firefly family.
Jeep currently supplies the Compass with 140 hp and 170 hp versions of its 1.4 MultiAir petrol engine, but the basically old engines are now being replaced by completely new 1.3s. These are blown 1.3-liter petrol engines that belong to FCA’s Firefly engine family. The new power source is available in two power variants. Which version you get depends on the transmission you choose.
Do you opt for a Jeep Compass with a manual six-speed gearbox? Then you get a 130 hp powerful version of the 1.3 in the nose of your SUV. If you order the Compass with automatic transmission, you will receive a 150 hp version of the 1.3 under the hood. The starting price of the Compass is € 31,900. For that amount you get the keys in the hands of a manual Compass with 130 hp 1.3 under the hood, designed as a Sport. A step up on the status ladder is the Longitude version, which changes ownership from € 33,400 in combination with this powertrain. The € 36,400 Limited is the top version of the Compass with 130 hp 1.3.
Those who order the Compass with the 150 hp version of the 1.3 will lose at least € 36,000. That amount is for the Longitude flavor. This drivetrain, always equipped with a dual clutch automatic transmission, is also available in conjunction with Limited and S trim levels. The Limited requires an investment of € 39,000 while top version S changes owners for € 42,000.
The Compass sprints with its 130 hp 1.3 in 10.3 seconds to a speed of 100 km / h. The top speed of this motorization is 192 km / h. The 150 hp strong variant only takes 9.2 seconds to get the speedometer at 100 km / h. The top speed of the most powerful Compass is 199 km / h.
Jeep also has a plug-in hybrid variant of the Compass in the barrel. This 4xe-baptized variant has a 240 hp drivetrain and must be able to drive about 50 kilometers electrically. Its starting price: € 47,990 for the First Edition. The plug Compass will be available this summer.
