New Tesla Roadster postponed again

It’s been almost six years since Tesla previewed a completely new Tesla Roadster. It is now 2023 and this year you can also write a new Tesla Roadster on your stomach. The arrival of the electric Roadster has been postponed for the umpteenth time.

In November 2017, Tesla showed the all-new Tesla Roadster in concept form. Initially it was said that the new Tesla Roadster would be on the market around 2020, but as we all know, that did not happen. In 2020 it was said that the Roadster would hit the market in 2022 and then Tesla CEO Elon Musk called in 2021 that the Roadster might hit the market in 2023. That’s not going to happen either.

According to various international media, Elon Musk has said on Twitter Spaces that the new electric Tesla Roadster will go into production at the end of 2024. This year would be the final touches to both the technology and the design of the car. Musk seems to acknowledge that it will take a very long time before the new Roadster is finally here, saying that Tesla is testing the patience of those who have already reserved a Roadster.

The conceptual new Tesla Roadster shown in 2017 came with some pretty impressive hardware. The model would have a 200 kWh battery pack and three electric motors. That powertrain would help the Roadster reach a speed of 100 km / h in 1.9 seconds. Its top speed: 400 km/h. In addition, the Roadster should be able to travel more than 1,000 kilometers on a full battery.
