New Volkswagen Amarok for sale in 2023

Volkswagen will pull the curtain on the new Amarok in 2022. The next generation Amarok will be a brother of the new Ford Ranger and has been shown just a fraction better on two new sketches.

Volkswagen will expand its commercial vehicle range next year with the electric ID Buzz, but a thorough renewal is also taking place on the other side of its commercial vehicle range. The current Amarok, dating from 2010, will be replaced after twelve years by a new generation. Unlike the current model, the new Amarok was not entirely developed by Volkswagen. In fact, especially Ford is responsible for the creation of the new Amarok. The new Amarok will therefore be a brother of the new Ranger and that is the result of a collaboration between Ford and Volkswagen that also explains why the new Ford Tourneo Connect is actually a Volkswagen Caddy.

The place of birth of the pick-up also changes. The new Amarok will not be built like the current model in Germany (Hannover) or Algeria (Relizane), but in Silverton, located in South Africa. Indeed, side by side with the Ranger. Although Volkswagen will present the new Amarok in 2022, the first copies will not appear on the road until 2023.

Despite the fact that the Amarok shares its base with the Ranger, the car looks less like its Ford brother both inside and out than the aforementioned Tourneo Connect. Although we see a large vertically oriented display in the center console in the interior, just like in the Ranger, the design of the dashboard is fairly unique. This also applies to the appearance of the pick-up. Although you will undoubtedly recognize the Ford genes in the windows, the Amarok will have its own front.
