Apple is said to be planning to release a redesigned Magic Mouse 3, but not until the end of 2026. Here’s what you need to know.
Newly designed Magic Mouse 3 in 2026
At the end of October, Apple updated three Mac accessories (Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse) with a USB-C connection. A new rumor, coming from the Korean leaker yeux1122now says that Apple plans to release a completely redesigned Magic Mouse 3.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also previously said that Apple was working on a redesign of the Magic Mouse. Gurman shared few details at the time, but did say that Apple’s designers wanted to create something that was more relevant. And that they also wanted to resolve long-standing complaints.

Wait two more years
yeux1122 does not have much news to report about the expected Magic Mouse 3. He does let us know a little more about the release of the new Magic Mouse. The leaker expects the new accessory to appear in 2026, around the same time as the OLED MacBook Pro.
Based on current expectations for future MacBook Pro models, this means a release at the end of 2026. So about two years after the just released USB-C Magic Mouse 2.
No voice control (voice control)
According to some news sources, yeux1122 also said that the Magic Mouse 3 would have voice control. That would be a big step forward for the Magic Mouse, but it is also nothing more than a misunderstanding.
The message does not make any statements about the functions of the Magic Mouse 3, but it does quote from it first message by Mark Gurman. What Gurman said and what yeux1122 reiterates with the quote is that the new Magic Mouse should be relevant in the modern era where different input methods are used such as voice and touchscreens. But the Magic Mouse 3 does not have voice control.
