Last week, it was announced in the App Store that Nintendo’s Super Mario Run is getting a major update. This update, with new levels and a new game mode, is available for download from today.
Major Super Mario Run update
A year after Super Mario Run appeared in the App Store, a major update is coming. It will appear on September 29: today. Now that the App Store has been renewed with daily interviews and articles about apps, it also appears to be the place to make these kinds of announcements.
Super Mario Run gets a completely new world, which you can go through in single player. The world is unlocked when you have cleared all six existing worlds. Nine new levels will follow, with a final boss. You can play these levels multiple times to collect all colors of coins. Those challenges are getting more and more difficult.
In the video in the App Store you can already see what levels they are. It promises a wooded environment with new enemies and spider webs. According to Nintendo, even the most seasoned players will be “faced with many new surprises.”

Remix 10
In addition to the new world, there will also be a new mode called Remix 10. In this you play ten different short pieces from existing Super Mario Run levels in quick succession. These pieces are different every time, giving you a different challenge every time. Special rainbow colored medals can be won in this mode.
A new character can also be unlocked in Remix 10. It’s about Princess Daisy. After unlocking it becomes playable and you can use the double jump in tricky levels.

The update for Super Mario Run has been released today. If you don’t have the game yet, it is best to download it now via the link below. Nintendo will lower the price (10.99 euros for the full game) by half, from September 29 to October 12.
