Nissan Micra out of production

Waiting for electric successor

Nissan Micra out of production

Looking for a candidate for our weekend section Back to Basics we found an empty spot in the Nissan range where the Micra used to be. What seems? Production of the Micra was quietly halted in December. If you still want to buy a new one, you are dependent on a copy from the dealer stocks. In it you will find about forty more.

We can put a temporary cross behind the name of another B-segment hatchback, because the conventionally powered Nissan Micra is also no longer there. Last December, the contract with Renault – which built the Micra for Nissan – expired, so there is now a Micra-free period until the next generation can be ordered. At the time of writing, Nissan cannot say anything new about that next generation. All we know about it remains that that car will once again share its base with a Renault – with the fully electric Renault 5.

If you want to drive a new Nissan Micra in the short term, then you have to rely on the stocks of dealers. In it you will find about forty new Micras, reports the importer. The now-ended generation of the B-segmenter was only available in its last phase of life with a 1-liter three-cylinder with 90 hp, so assume that the stock cars have that power source under the hood. For further specifications of the cars still available, we refer you to the dealer websites.
