Nissan is eager to add a new chapter to the acclaimed Z range. We can look forward to this in the form of the Z Proto and the brand is already sharing a design sketch of this.
At 11 years old, the Nissan 370Z is one of the oldest models still available at the moment. High time for a successor to the Japanese two-seater. Rumors about this date back to last year and this spring it all became more concrete. For example, the new ‘Z’ would become much more powerful and get a top version with 480 hp. A 480Z, therefore, because the engine power would from now on determine the name instead of the engine size. What is more certain is that the new Z is clearly inspired by the car that once started it all; the 240Z.

In a brand new teaser of the ‘Z Proto’, the name of the concept car that looks ahead to the newcomer, the retro influences are already clearly visible. This certainly applies to this new sketch, which design chef Alfonso Albaisa uses Instagram account shares. On it we see, among other things, a C-pillar in the shape that we are used to from the 240Z with a Z logo on it in the well-known place. The back looks, again like the 240Z, quite angular. A fairly abruptly shortened rear offers space for two-line rear light units. If you put the 240Z next to it, you will see enough similarities.
Just two more weeks of patience, then we’ll know more. On September 15, Nissan pulls the curtain off the Z Proto.
