Nokia is going to release an Android tablet in the Netherlands. The new Nokia T20 should be an accessible tablet with which the brand targets both families and businesses. The device has a large battery and an update policy that guarantees monthly security updates.

Nokia T20

Tablets are hip again. That is actually the simple explanation that HMD Global gives us when we ask why Nokia is coming with the T20 right now. The demand for tablets has grown again for the first time in a long time since last year, so we can already be sure that this T20 will be just one product in a new series from Nokia.

Nokia has equipped its tablet with a 10.4 inch LCD screen that has a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels. Striking for its price range is the solid aluminum housing that has a navy blue tint, and there is room for a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microSD slot. If we look at the back we see a single 8 MP camera sensor and in the front is a 5 MP one.

large battery

The performance of this tablet should come from a 1.8 Ghz T610 chipset, which is an octa-core processor for devices from the budget segment. The processor is assisted by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The T20 is available in a model that only supports WiFi and one that also works with mobile data.

To prevent users from being limited in their enjoyment of use, the Nokia T20 is equipped with a relatively large 8200mAh battery. According to Nokia, this allows 15 hours of web browsing, seven hours of conference calls or 10 hours of movie watching. You can charge the tablet again with the 15-watt charger via the USB-c port, but Nokia does tell us that the T20 actually supports 25-watt fast charging.

Android 11 and quick updates

Looking at the software, we end up with Android 11, but Nokia also announces that its Android tablet will work with Google Kids Space. That is Google’s special launcher for tablets that is tailored to children. Google Kids Space is linked to a child’s Google Account, which parents can manage with Family Link parental controls. The Nokia T20 is also backed by two years of OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates that protect the device from potential security vulnerabilities.

With the Nokia T20, the Finnish brand is also launching a few accessories. First of all, there is the rugged flip cover. This is a sturdy cover that matches the design of the T20. Secondly, the Nokia micro earbuds appear, which are a pair of wireless earphones that also go with the dark blue color of the tablet. We also asked HMD Global why there will be no keyboard cover, but according to the company it was a conscious choice. HMD does not rule out the possibility that products will follow later that will appear with such a cover.

Prices and availability

The Nokia T20 will appear in the Netherlands in mid-October, and it will be for sale from 219 euros. For that price you have a model that supports WiFi, and if you pay 249 euros you have the 4G variant. You can discover all the prices of the T20 and its accessories below.
