Bentley has officially pulled the curtain on the Continental GT Speed Convertible, the superlative of the homeless Continental GT. As before, the GT Speed Convertible fuses open driving with sporty performance. The nightmare for anyone with a toupee.
At the end of March, Bentley presented the Continental GT Speed, the extra potent and faster version of the by nature not modest Continental GT. The Speed has the well-known 6.0 W12 under the hood, although the twelve-cylinder in this version is even good for 659 hp and 900 Nm. A few days after the presentation of the Continental GT Speed, Techzle was already able to show you exclusive photos of its cut-away brother. The Continental GT Speed Convertible is now officially presented, of course equipped with the same potent 6.0 W12 as the closed version.
Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible
With its extra powerful heart, the superlative of the Continental GT Convertible sprints to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds. Its top speed is 335 km / h. The twelve-cylinder is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission that has been adapted for the Speed versions. According to Bentley, the automatic transmission shifts twice as fast as in the regular Continental GT W12. In a straight line, the GT Speed Convertible is not much faster than the version with the 635 hp W12. However, the new extra powerful version should be slightly more dynamic.
The Continental GT Speed Convertible, just like its close brother, gets an electronic limited slip differential (eLSD) and Bentley even pulls All-Wheel Steering out of the closet. You should benefit from this especially in Sport mode. At lower speeds, the rear wheels steer in the opposite direction to the front wheels for a more direct steering character. At high speed, the rear wheels steer with the front wheels to increase straight-line stability. Bentley, among other things, tightens the traction control and the aforementioned Sport mode has also been readjusted. Optionally, Bentley supplies carbon-ceramic brakes, extra powerful brakes that, among other things, result in weight savings of over 30 kilos. The roof of the Continental GT Speed can be opened or closed in 19 seconds up to a speed of 50 km / g.
Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible
The Continental GT Speed Convertible distinguishes itself from the regular Continental GT Convertible with its black grille, sportier-looking bumper work and Speed badges. The homeless nobleman in sports suit has special 22-inch slippers and the interior is lavishly decorated. Bentley folds several square meters of Alcantara and leather into the interior and here too special Speed badges cannot be missed. Bentley also has various leathers and different flavors of wood veneer available for the Continental GT Speed.
