OnePlus launches the new OnePlus 10 Pro 5G with numerous improvements, such as a renewed Hasselblad camera, better performance and a faster charging system.

OnePlus already has excellent smartphones, such as the Oneplus 9 Pro we tested. With this smartphone, which was awarded 4.5 stars, you could already work with a Hasselblad camera, only it has now been improved in its successor, the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G. This new smartphone has the second-generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile with a OnePlus Billion Color Solution, second-generation Hasselblad Pro Mode and a new 150-degree wide-angle lens.

Design
The OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a newly designed camera system that transitions seamlessly from an aluminum phone frame to a glass back. Furthermore, the weight distribution of the OnePlus 10 Pro has been brought together to the middle, so that the device feels balanced in your hand.

Second generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile
The second-generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile of the OnePlus 10 Pro supports the OnePlus Billion Color Solution that allows natural color calibration with Hasselblad to be applied to more than a billion colors. The OnePlus 10 Pro contains three cameras on the back: the main camera, telephoto lens and the wide-angle lens. All three cameras can shoot in full 10-bit color. This allows the smartphone to shoot with DCI-P3 color program coverage that is 25 percent greater and can process 64 times more color than smartphones shooting in 8-bit color.
Furthermore, Hasselblad Pro Mode supports capturing in 12-bit RAW on all three rear cameras, complete with Hasselblad Natural Color Solution. The Hasselblad Pro mode also features a new powerful RAW mode called RAW+, which allows users to shoot in 12-bit RAW while retaining the technical photography elements of the smartphone. This results in a wider dynamic range, more editing options through the RAW format and noise reduction through the computational photography (software to instantly improve captured photos) of the OnePlus 10 Pro.

Plus, the OnePlus 10 Pro is the first OnePlus phone to feature a Movie Mode for shooting videos, which lets you adjust ISO, shutter speed, and white balance before and during shooting. Also, this Movie Mode supports the ability to capture images in LOG format without a preset image profile. This gives the creator a blank canvas to edit, so to speak.
In addition, the OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a ‘Master Style’. This means that the camera is excellent for various forms of photography, according to OnePlus. The so-called Master Style consists of three color styles: Serenity, Radiance and Emerald. Serenity is for taking portraits, Radiance for taking stylized shots and Emerald for taking idyllic landscape shots.
The OnePlus 10 Pro also includes a 150-degree wide-angle lens that lets you capture more in every image than before. Furthermore, the wide-angle lens is supported by a new Fisheye mode. Finally, the wide-angle lens supports capturing scenes in a more traditional 110-degree field of view, complete with AI-based distortion correction. Both the 150-degree wide-angle lens and Fisheye mode can be accessed via a dedicated tab in the camera app.

Performance
The OnePlus 10 Pro has the fastest and smoothest performance ever on a OnePlus phone. This is due to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform with a 7th Gen Qualcomm AI Engine. This ensures a performance that is up to four times faster than its predecessor. The OnePlus 10 Pro also comes with a redesigned Qualcomm Adreno GPU that is 25 percent more efficient. Furthermore, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile platform is equipped with a fourth-generation Snapdragon X65, which provides more support in terms of networks, frequencies and bandwidths. The fourth-generation Snapdragon X65 is also the world’s first 10 Gigabit 5G Modem-RF solution. The super-fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform also comes with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 two-lane storage for faster and more efficient performance.

Display
The OnePlus 10 Pro has a 6.7-inch QHD+ screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display features second-generation LTPO technology, which means users can adjust their refresh rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz faster than the OnePlus 9 series, depending on the type of content. As a result, this new display consumes less power than the 120 Hz and 90 Hz displays of other smartphones. The OnePlus 10 Pro’s display is also the industry’s first to feature Dual Color Calibration, meaning the display is calibrated to show accurate, natural colors at two different levels of brightness: high and low. Dual Color Calibration thus ensures that the OnePlus 10 Pro’s display is much more consistent in displaying accurate and natural colors.

Software
The OnePlus 10 Pro comes preinstalled with ColorOs 12.1, which is based on Android 12. When the smartphone is released in India, Europe and North America, it will be installed with OxygenOs 12, which is also based on Android 12.

Battery
The OnePlus 10 Pro has the fastest charging battery ever on a OnePlus phone, namely an 80W SuperVOOC Flash Charge. This ensures that the 5,000 mAh battery is fully charged in just 32 minutes. The smartphone also supports the 50W AirVOOC Wireless Flash Charge, allowing it to be fully charged in 47 minutes. Furthermore, an 80W charging dock and accompanying USB-c cable are included with the device.

Price and availability
The OnePlus 10 Pro will be available in China from January 13, and in the rest of the world later in 2022. The device comes in the colors Volcanic Black and Emerald Forest. The price is currently unknown.
